Explore the Christmas story through the eyes of Robin the songbird, sent on a song-finding quest to bring life and music back to Old Gloomy Wood. His quest takes him to Nazareth in search of a girl called Mary but instead he finds old Zechariah singing about a Saviour. No matter how much Robin tries, he can't sing more than one little tweet. Who is this Saviour who inspires so many others, where can he be found and will Robin the songbird ever sing again?

This story is inspired by the outbursts of praise that accompany the long-awaiting news of the Saviour in Luke's gospel - Jesus Christ has arrived! First sings Mary – young and pregnant - then Zechariah the priest, then a crowd of announcing angels and finally, old Simeon at the Temple. What is it about this baby that makes all sorts of people want to sing for joy? And what will your response be to Jesus, this Christmas?

Included in this book are links to additional material you can use in your Christmas service, children's groups, schools and assemblies to share the good news of the birth of Jesus in a fresh, engaging way. And just for fun, children can spy and learn the names of a wide variety of colourful songbirds they may find in their own gardens this coming spring.
