Associated with All Saints and All Souls feast days this selection was guided by the plainsong office hymn Father, In Whom Thy Saints are One, with themes of sacrifice and praise, steadfastness and eternal rest, patriarchs, prophets, and Apostles. These themes are all brought together in two settings of the Te Deum Laudamus.
