Robert Crowley performs a diverse selection of works by Arthur Wills his former teacher on the 1908 Harrison & Harrison organ incorporating Elliot & Hill (1831/50) at Ely Cathedral (restored Harrison & Harrison 2001).
Arthur Wills, one of Britain’s most influential organist-composers was Director of Music at Ely 1958-1990 and the pieces reflect his design input and deep connection to this instrument.
The programme highlights Wills’ varied works including the monumental Symphony: Bhagavad Gita and the evocative Icons.
