Kevin Bowyer performs Paul Fisher ’s imaginative works at Blackburn Cathedral, joined by flautist Claudia Lashmore. The organ was built by Gray (1826/31) & Cavaillé-Coll (1875), rebuilt by Walker (1969) and restored by David Wood 2002.
Utilizing the organ’s full dynamic spectrum from delicate flutes to trumpet fanfares the programme includes the descriptive Wild Spirits, the flute-accompanied Shadow of the Sun, jazz-tributes for pedals and left hand, and a personal memorial.
