The Editio Critica Maior documents the textual history of the Greek New Testament in the first millennium on the basis of the most important Greek manuscripts, ancient translations, and New Testament quotations in ancient Christian literature. The volumes on the Acts of the Apostles and the Catholic Epistles were published first, and the German Bible Society is now delighted to present the first volumes on a synoptic gospel, the Gospel of Mark. The Gospel of Mark, Editio Critica Maior 2.3: Studies contains a commentary on selected variants as well as studies on early translations and patristic tradition. There are two other companion volumes: The Gospel of Mark, Editio Critica Maior 2.1: Text and The Gospel of Mark, Editio Critica Maior 2.2: Supplementary Material. All three volumes are also available for purchase as a complete set.
