The Story of Wang Mingdao The founding of the People´?¢s Republic of China in 1949 turned a brand new page of Chinese history. For Wang Mingdao, this was an extraordinary time. Living under the harsh conditions and cruel realities of the Japanese occupation, he fought a fierce spiritual battle between life and death and won a glorious victory. Brothers and sisters who deeply loved the Lord offered their heart-felt thanksgiving for him and the precious lessons they learned from his struggle and victory. But soon, a new and tougher battle was dawning on him. We follow his personal journey set against the backdrop of the rise of communism throughout a changing China and the gradual exertion of pressure upon religious freedom. Christians were urged to embrace a liberalism which robbed the Gospel message of it's power. Wang Mingdao resisted any such dilution of the faith. Wang Mingdao was constantly subjected to false accusations, yet he persistently and unwaveringly proclaimed the truth of God´?¢s Word, refusing to compromise. Eventually the authorities arrested him on false charges and imprisoned him. After battling and appealing unsuccessfully against the authorities, he was eventually sentenced to life imprisonment. What he did not realise was that the end of the man was the starting point of God. His life had entered a new stage from this point on´?¢ Wang Mingdao constantly urged Christians to ´?¢´?¢face change with the unchangeable; prepare for ordinary times as extraordinary days, and live in extraordinary days as in ordinary times.´?¢ His words are true and relevant for us today and every Christian will be able to draw inspiration from this great man of God. 256 pages
